Financial Participation

According to research conducted in 2001, there are share ownership schemes in just under 10 per cent of companies. There are more such schemes in companies with over 500 employees than in small and medium-sized ones.

Furthermore, share ownership opportunities are often confined to management: only two-fifths of companies with participation possibilities extend them beyond management. That means that only 4 per cent of all companies provide access to share ownership to the whole workforce. 1
