Board-level Representation

There is no participation of employees at board level.

A Volksinitiative (petition for a referendum) by the trade unions, which sought to anchor participation in the Constitution, was rejected in 1976 after a massive campaign by the employers and the centre-right parties. Only in a few exceptional instances is such representation provided for (for example, in the Postal Service).
